As a reminder NABMA is offering an opportunity for a virtual discussion about retail markets; their importance to the future renaissance of the high street; and what markets and market trading will be in the months ahead. As the industry continues its journey out of Covid 19, then markets are recognised to be one of the key influencing factors for vibrant and vital high streets. They offer low cost, low risk start up business opportunities and local food provenance is on many agendas. Many markets have seen traders and shoppers return, but some markets still face uncertain futures. Our conference asks – what is the current position as markets continue the start back supporting their local high street? How will Covid 19 reshape our industry? Is this a new beginning for markets and market trading?
A headline speaker will be Simon Quin. Simon is Co Chair of the Institute of Place Management and an Executive Director of the government appointed High Streets Task Force. He is also well known as a Professorial Fellow in Practice (Place Management) at Manchester Metropolitan University. Simon will examine how markets fit into place leadership and how the High Street Task Force is challenged to lead the government agenda to revitalise the High Street.
What has been the Covid impact? How is local economic growth now to take place, and where do markets now fit in place leadership?
We will announce further headline speakers in the next few days but please book early. Numbers will be limited.
This is an excellent platform to catch up with your fellow market professionals and discuss the changing face of markets and market trading as we evolve out of the devastating impact of the Covid pandemic.
