Calderdale Council is recruiting a Divisional Markets Inspector to oversee the day-to-day operation of Todmorden Market, supporting traders, maintaining high operational standards and helping to deliver a vibrant market experience for the local community.

Position Details
- Position: Divisional Markets Inspector (Todmorden)

- Location: Todmorden
- Salary: Scale 6, SCP 18–22, £31,537–£33,699 per annum, plus half-time enhancement for Saturday and Sunday hours worked where applicable.
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37 hours per week, including weekends
- Closing Date: 2 July 2026
The successful candidate will oversee the operation of Todmorden Market, ensuring compliance with market regulations, health and safety requirements and council procedures, while supporting traders, managing pitches, collecting fees and helping to develop events and promotional activities to increase footfall and revenue.
The role would suit someone with experience in markets, enforcement, facilities management or another customer-facing operational environment, who enjoys working outdoors and thrives in a fast-paced setting.
