Important Guidance for Food Businesses – Additional Checks

The FSA has developed a complementary check list to help food businesses re-open and operate safely, when allowed.

Due to the extended period of closure because of COVID-19, it will be very important for food businesses which are re-starting to carry out additional checks alongside their normal daily routine. Our check list will help. It covers business activities, safety management and waste, food areas and surfaces, hand washing and cleanliness, equipment, raw materials, and allergen information. Business owners can download it from our website and mark their progress. This will help to ensure that businesses can restart safely.

Food businesses will need to review their Food Safety Management System and recorded the details in either their Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan or their Safer food, better business pack.
