The Great British Market Awards 2027, proudly sponsored by Market Place, officially launch at 12 noon on Friday 30 October 2026.
Organised by NABMA – The Voice of Markets – the Great British Market Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and community achievement across the UK’s markets, recognising the people, places and communities that make them thrive.
At the heart of the Awards is the ever-popular Britain’s Favourite Market public vote, giving traders, operators, customers and communities the opportunity to get behind the markets they love.
Markets of every kind are encouraged to take part – large or small, indoor or outdoor, food, speciality, community or wholesale.
Great British Market Awards 2027
Nominations open at 12 noon on Friday 30 October 2026 and close at midnight on 24 December 2026.
Markets can enter as many eligible categories as they wish, showcasing their achievements, innovation and contribution to their local communities.
To accommodate Christmas markets, nominations for the Best Speciality Market and Best Market Attraction categories will remain open until midnight on Monday 4 January 2027.

Category winners from 2026 are not eligible to enter the same category for 2027.
Britain’s Favourite Market 2027
Voting for Britain’s Favourite Market also opens at 12 noon on Friday 30 October and will close at midnight on Friday 11 December 2026.
Market operators and traders are encouraged to get their customers, communities and supporters ready to champion their favourite market.

Following the public vote, a shortlist will be created, with the final winner selected through assessment by the Great British Market Awards judging panel. This may include mystery shopping and quality checks.

Now is the time for market teams to start thinking about their nominations and how they will encourage their communities to support Britain’s Favourite Market.
The Great British Market Awards are one of the most prestigious forms of recognition within the UK markets sector and provide an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, creativity and achievements of markets across the country.
The winners will be announced at the NABMA One Day Conference in Birmingham on Tuesday 2 February 2027.
