Steve Pickering, NABMA’s Training and Development Manager reports on his visit to Wales to lead a workshop with a number of markets from the Anglesey and Gwynedd region.
“Under the umbrella of Mentermon, eight markets came together to form a collective with a view to attracting visitors to their markets. Mentermon is a not for profit company working with all levels of Government and the private sector to provide solutions to the challenges facing rural Wales and they are now a welcome member to the Nabma family.
“Eight markets from as far as Porthmadog, Pwllheli , Caernarfon, Holyhead and Llangefni attended the workshop to see how working together could help promote their individual markets.
“I am excited by the raw potential these markets have to offer and see no reason why as a collective they cannot grow to become one of the major visitor attractions for North Wales.
“I think a lot of people seem to have forgotten what real food tastes like, and the local Welsh produce on sale at these picturesque local markets is well worth travelling to experience.
“Nabma will continue to encourage these local markets and I am looking forward to returning to Wales and seeing them develop in the future.”
See you again soon
