Following the Prime Minister’s broadcast, NABMA’s view is that nothing has changed regarding the operation of markets.
We are now awaiting the publication of the detailed guidance later today to see whether there is anything in the detail that affects markets. If so we will update members.
As you are aware we have already published guidance on social distancing relating to Indoor Markets. In the next few days we will be looking at a further guidance document on Outdoor Markets and we hope to publish this document shortly.
Later today NABMA will be publishing further details of the members’ survey together with a number of case studies from markets around the country. These case studies will put the impact of COVID-19 into a more detailed context and potentially give you the opportunity of looking at your own position in comparison to the Markets highlighted in the case studies.
NABMA would also like to acknowledge the support from various MPs but particularly Chi Onwurah MP, Newcastle Central, and Shadow Labour Minister who has agreed to table a number of questions about markets highlighting the work undertaken already by NABMA.
