With the launch of the Stockton Waterfront Urban Park in June 2026, this is a key role supporting town centre transformation and ensuring the markets continue to thrive as modern, welcoming destinations.

About the role
As Market Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the outdoor general markets, drive commercial performance, and support regeneration, place-making and community life. Working from the Our Markets Matter strategy, you will:
- Grow income and improve occupancy
- Attract, recruit and retain a diverse, high-quality mix of traders
- Deliver safe, well-managed and welcoming markets
- Deliver market-specific events
- Promote the markets as destinations, including positive use of Facebook and Instagram
- Ensure compliance with Market Regulation and Quality Standards (2026)
You will work closely with the Town Centre Manager and wider partners to boost footfall, enhance customer experience and strengthen the identity of each town centre.
Please note: the successful candidate will be required to work Saturdays as part of their working week.
