The third Mission for Markets survey, collected by NABMA and the NMTF has been published.
CEO of NABMA, Graham Wilson highlighted some of the findings of the survey including:
- 77% of market traders have confidence in the longevity of their businesses showing that markets are coping well with the retail downturn.
- 70% of market traders over 50 years of age. NABMA /NMTF Survey highlights the need to recruit more young people into the industry.
- Markets Survey shows over 70% of markets not registered for VAT which adds importance to NABMA’s campaign to challenge Treasury and HMRC.
- Results of NABMA/NMTF National Markets Survey shows national average occupancy rate in markets is 77% which is consistent with the position in the 2016 survey. Markets are therefore holding their own in declining High Street.
