Celebrity Cake Maker to present Great British Market Awards

I’m delighted that Molly Robbins from Channel 4’s Extreme Cake Makers programme will be coming along to the One Day Conference later this week in Birmingham to present the Great British Market Awards.

At the age of 20, Molly’s career aim was to open a cake stall on Bury Market. She’s yet to achieve her market dream as today, at 26, she’s quickly become one of the UK’s most celebrated and exciting Cake Artists.

With a combined social media following of 100,000 thousand fans and followers across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, her novelty cakes and cake tutorials have gone viral around the world with a reach of almost 10 million. She is best known for her work in the series “Extreme Cake Makers”, which can be seen daily on Channel 4. Industry accolades include three Gold awards at the world’s largest cake competitions ‘Cake International’, where she went on to achieve the award of ‘Rising Star of 2016’. Molly has been featured as part of The Paul O’Grady Show, Blue Peter, and across CBBC.

Love Your Local Market 2018

MARKETS : CLOSE TO YOUR HEART
17th to 31st May 2018

Registrations open soon for this year’s #LYLM2018 campaign and we very much hope that once again NABMA members will be fully behind this global initiative. The campaign aims to encourage people to visit their local markets, shop and spend time there, and to celebrate the great variety of markets that take place across the country. Once again we hope that many places will be running events to encourage youth involvement and that free or subsidised stalls and other support will be offered to new traders to enable more businesses to start up or develop during the #LYLM2018 fortnight.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding falls on the first Saturday of this year’s Love Your Local Market campaign which is highly appropriate given that the international theme is Markets: Close to Your Heart. We’re working with our sponsors, Gala Tent again to provide organisers with a range of Love Your Local Market professional merchandise with the signature heart logo which can be adapted to include your local partners’ branding.

You can make a BIG impression with the range of Love Your Local Market promotional merchandise.

Stocks are limited, so order now!

From local heroes who put heart and soul into their community, to markets as the beating heart of towns and cities, this is your chance to link up with a national campaign to get the country talking about markets with events, special offers, start up pitches and young enterprise initiatives.

Valentines Day, the 14th of February will be the start of our call to action, with an appeal for markets to register their events centrally so that our communications team can include you in our promotion and maximise the scale of the campaign.

We welcome news stories, job vacancies and tender opportunities from our members for publication. If your market has some news to share, please email support@nabma.com
