At our 2022 AGM we acknowledged that a special person would be leaving the Presidency and retiring from NABMA.
It is right, therefore, to say a huge thank you to Geraldine Carter. Geraldine has been part of the NABMA family for nearly two decades and has been an influential voice in making NABMA the organisation it is today. NABMA could have asked for no better markets advocate than Geraldine.
Geraldine has been a vociferous voice for markets with government, within the APPPMG and with our various partners. She has been the main conduit for NABMA within the World Union of Wholesale Markets travelling thousands of miles to campaign and promote markets in the UK.
At the local level Geraldine is the true community champion with a long and distinguished record of public service making a positive difference to many lives in the communities that she has represented. At the core of that service has been her love and passion for markets and market people. Graham Wilson and myself could have asked for no better support and encouragement over recent years, in good or difficult times than that provided by Geraldine.
