Real Deal celebrates 10th Anniversary
Launched in 2009 by the National Markets Group for IP Protection, the Real Deal campaign is focused on preventing the sale of fake and counterfeit goods on markets. Since its very beginning, the campaign has been fully supported by NABMA, and, over the years, the Real Deal Charter has been introduced by many NABMA members at hundreds of markets across the UK, giving consumers and traders greater confidence in these markets.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary year, the Real Deal is undertaking a PR campaign during the first week of December (2-8 December 2019) and all markets that have signed the Real Deal Charter at any stage over the past ten years are invited to join in.
It’s a great opportunity to remind your local community that you are part of the Real Deal and are working with local trading standards to protect shoppers and legitimate traders from the harm caused by the sale of fake goods. By joining in the Real Deal’s 10th anniversary PR, from the 2nd of December and right through to Christmas, you can generate some very positive local PR, letting shoppers know that they can enjoy their Christmas shopping in a fake-free environment.
The social media pack is available to download from the NABMA website here https://nabma.com/real-deal-assets/
You will also find some suggested messages along with two hashtags that should be used throughout the week commencing 2 December #realdeal10 and #buyreal
Also available is a poster. Real Deal markets can print off the poster and use it as a ‘prop’ for a photo opportunity to post on social media from 2 December onwards and for ongoing use at the market. If you would like to display your own authority’s logo on the poster then please use the top right hand side below the Real Deal 10 Logo.
A template press release is also available on request from Real Deal Campaign Manager, Patricia Lennon
