As part of the celebrations at the House of Commons this week for the parliamentary launch of Love Your Local Market,  NMTF made a presentation to their Market Manager of the Year.

The Love Your Local Market 2016 event has been launched at the House of Commons with a reception for the markets industry and many MP’S and Peers.

The welcome was extended by Jim Fitzpatrick MP the Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Markets Group and the speaker was Marcus Jones MP the Minister for high streets, town centres and markets.

Earlier this month Harborough Market joined the crème de la crème of Leicester’s business community at a lavish ceremony, where their exceptional accomplishments in turning the market into a thriving community location being acknowledge.

Over sixty people attended the London Regional Meeting, hosted by Kensington and Chelsea, representing the highest attendance recorded in the four years of holding these events. Held as a joint meeting with the London Benchmarking Group the Regional Meeting covered a wide range of topics including Business Rates, Markets Performance template, Mission for Markets and LYLM.

The search for a partner for Darlington Markets is set to begin in earnest as a special report goes before Darlington Borough Council’s Cabinet next week (Tuesday 3 May).

NABMA were welcomed to Bury by the Leader of the Council who is seen with Chris Rosling Josephs, NABMA President Elect. Bury’s World Famous Market was the location for the latest NABMA Regional Event which included a tour of the market.

Young entrepreneurs and performers are being urged to sign up for Bolton’s first ever Teenage Market.

The event has been organised by Bolton Council to give young people an opportunity to showcase their business ideas as well as their musical and dramatic talents.
